Medical Appointments
What to do if your child has a medical appointment
Medical appointments that are within school hours: the school will need proof of the appointment, such as an email/text or letter.
If your child has an appointment that cannot be taken out of school hours, they will still be required to attend school both before and after the appointment where possible. 8:30am is the first legal roll call, and 13:20 is the second legal roll call.
If your child doesn’t attend school before an afternoon appointment, or even a morning appointment, this may be logged as an unauthorised absence without a good enough reason.
It is the parent /carer’s responsibility to provide evidence.
