Information for Students

At Beccles High School we are fortunate to have a specialist Careers Advisor in Ms Jenny Stockman. Ms Stockman is responsible for providing up to date information advice and guidance about careers, Labour Markets and Further Education (FE) for all students. All Yr10 and Yr11 students have 1-2-1 careers interviews and Y9s attend group meetings with Ms Stockman to help them choose their options. Ms Stockman is highly qualified in careers education, bringing years of business and networking experience with her to benefit students, staff and parents/carers. She is employed full time by the Trust, including during the school holidays, to support with critical careers and transition conversations.

Beccles High School is continuously developing its Careers Programme to further embed the school’s values of ‘kindness, ambition and determination’ across the curriculum. Contextualising these values in a careers framework linking learning with the world of work drives students’ motivation for learning, whilst building their social and cultural capital.

The Careers Programme works closely with partners and stakeholders in different sectors to expertly inform our students, make them self-aware and prepare them for the choices they will encounter throughout life. As part of the Beccles High School Careers Programme a number of events are coordinated throughout the year as well as ongoing advice in lessons to students about careers and routes into employment.
