Attendance matters
Good attendance allows students to be supported in their social, educational, emotional and mental development.
At Beccles High School we have an expectation of a minimum 96% attendance from all students.
Above 97%: Excellent Attendance! -Less than 6 days absence a year
95%: Good Attendance - attendance equates to 10 days absence in a school year
90%: Will be difficult for these students to achieve their best- attendance equates to 19 days absence in a school year.
85%: Persistent absentees as stated by the DFE - attendance equates to 29 days absence in a school year.
80%: Could result in legal action by the local authority- attendance equates to 38 days absence in a school year.
