Transfer to secondary school
Primary to Secondary school applications for September 2025 entry open on the 12th September 2024 and close on the 31st October 2024.
When you have applied, the Local Authority will offer you a school place on the 3rd March 2025 (National Offer Day).
Late applications
If your child is due to transfer to secondary school in September 2025 and you haven’t applied, you can make a late application by completing a paper application form. A paper application form can be downloaded from the Local Authority website.

Applications open – 12th September 2024
Applications close – 31st October 2024
National Offer Day (when you get your school offer) – 3rd March 2025
Appeals closing date - 17th March 2025
Appeal hearings take place – May/June 2025
